Contract Attorney - Plaintiff

Position Overview A well-established and growing Personal Injury firm in Sacramento is seeking a motivated Contract Attorney to join their team. This is an excellent opportunity for a junior attorney looking to gain hands‑on litigation experience, receive direct mentorship from a Senior Partner, and build a long‑term career in plaintiff‑side personal injury law. This role offers a clear path to permanent hire based on performance and fit. Key Responsibilities Draft, review, and argue law and motion (motions, pleadings, discovery, etc.) Assist with case strategy and litigation support from intake through resolution Conduct legal research and writing Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, and vendors Participate in client development and relationship‑building efforts Support trial preparation as needed Qualifications J.D. from an accredited law school Admitted to the California Bar (or pending results) 0‑2 years of legal experience (personal injury experience is a plus but not required) Strong legal writing, research, and analytical skills Highly motivated with a desire to learn and grow in plaintiff litigation Excellent interpersonal and communication skills What Sets This Opportunity Apart Direct mentorship from an experienced Senior Partner Exposure to substantive litigation work early in your career Opportunity to build your own client base and professional network Collaborative, supportive team environment Contract‑to‑hire path with long‑term growth potential Compensation Competitive hourly rate (DOE) and, once permanent, between $120,000‑$150,000 Potential for conversion to a permanent position with full benefits Desired Skills and Experience The ideal candidate will have 0‑2 years of legal experience and a strong foundation in legal research and writing, with an interest in plaintiff‑side personal injury litigation. Exposure to or familiarity with drafting motions, pleadings, and discovery is highly valued, along with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment. Candidates should demonstrate excellent analytical thinking, attention to detail, and effective communication skills, as well as a proactive, coachable mindset and eagerness to learn through hands‑on mentorship. A passion for client advocacy and an interest in developing litigation skills, including law and motion and client relationship building, are essential for success in this role.
