High School Special Education Team Member

The Sioux Center Schools are looking for energetic and compassionate individuals to join our High School Special Education Team to help our special needs students for the 26-27 school year.

Basic Function of the Position: Assist students and teachers in the learning environment.

Qualifications Mandatory: High School Graduate Ability to work with people Ability to organize and maintain files and materials Desirable: Past paraprofessional experience

Duties and tasks of the Position

1. Assist students in the modifications to their individual education program.
2. Maintain group discipline in an education setting.
3. Organize education material or ideas.
4. Establish & maintain relationships with students.
5. Mentor students on their study and life skills.
6. Monitor student classroom activities.
7. Use behavior modification techniques.
8. Participate in staff training programs.

Employment Information:

1. Employed by the Sioux Center Board of Education upon the recommendation of the Superintendent.
2. Directly reports to the building principal
3. The salary for this position is set by the Sioux Center Community School Board of Education and is an hourly rate of pay
