Navigation functions include the statistical processing of measured data points and their substitution into algorithms simulating physical reality. Guidance functions include the formulation of specific equations and control laws to achieve a desired position in space. Control design and analyses processes consist of the development of the control requirements for aircraft, launch vehicles and/or spacecraft.Basic QualificationsBS in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, physics, computer science, applied mathematics, or similar STEM degree.1 - 2+ years of hands‑on experience performing guidance, navigation, or flight control engineering on aerospace or missile applications.Solid foundation in linear algebra, dynamics, coordinate frame transformations, and fundamental control theory (PI filters, Laplace transform, Fourier analysis, state-space modeling, etc.)Demonstrated understanding of Air Vehicle dynamics, aerodynamics, propulsion, and environmental disturbance modelingDemonstrated understanding of guidance law development or autopilot/flight controls algorithm development.Familiarity in SW development environments like Git using programming languages such as MATLAB, Python, C++, FORTRAN, or Ada.Excellent written and verbal communication skills to include generation and presentation of verification plans, analysis reports, algorithm description documentation, other technical documents.US Citizenship and an ability to attain Secret Clearance is required.Desired SkillsMaster's degree in an engineering discipline with concentration in controls, flight dynamics, or guidanceExperience integrating and testing hardware and software in Hardware In-the-Loop (HWIL)Experience with flight-control hardware, actuator interfaces, and inertial sensorsExperience using a Linux-based operating systemPay InformationFull-Time Salary Range: $81100.00 - $150500.00At Lockheed Martin, we know mission success starts with taking care of our people.
