The Sales Representative & Merchandiser is responsible for driving sales growth and ensuring execution across assigned accounts. This position combines sales, merchandising, and account management to optimize product availability, visibility, and performance. Working closely with store personnel, the representative will identify growth opportunities, place orders, execute promotional initiatives, and maintain display standards in accordance with company guidelines.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Manage the assigned territory and conduct daily store visits according to established routes and schedules.
• Drive sales volume by identifying growth opportunities, recommending order quantities, and supporting promotional programs.
• Build and maintain strong business relationships with store managers and key decision-makers.
• Ensure product availability through efficient shelf restocking, backroom management, and proper inventory rotation.
• Execute merchandising standards, including planogram compliance, secondary displays, and point-of-sale (POS) placement.
• Verify pricing accuracy, promotional execution, and overall product condition in-store.
• Report out-of-stock items, returns, and inventory discrepancies.
• Maintain accurate and timely records of store visits, activities, and sales metrics using company reporting tools.
• Identify new business opportunities within the territory and assist with onboarding new accounts as needed.
• Adhere to all company policies, operating procedures, and safety guidelines.
• Availability to travel. All travels will be scheduled in advance, and approved business travel expenses will be reimbursed by the company.

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS

• High school diploma or GED required; college coursework or degree preferred.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in sales, merchandising, or retail, preferably in the CPG (Consumer Packaged Goods) industry.
• Experience in a Direct-Store-Delivery (DSD) environment is a plus.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in the field.
• Highly organized with strong attention to detail.
• Proactive mindset with strong problem-solving abilities.
• Physical ability to lift up to 25 lbs. regularly and up to 50 lbs. occasionally.
• Adaptable and comfortable working in a fast-paced field environment.

• 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM

Requirements:

• Valid driver's license, reliable vehicle, and proof of auto insurance.
• Ability to travel daily throughout the assigned territory.
• Authorized to work in the United States.
• Position is primarily based in Buffalo, NY, covering daily local store routes.
• Occasional travel to nearby markets (including Rochester, Syracuse, and Utica, NY) may be required based on business needs.
