Court Program Specialist II - Family Court Services (OPS)

The Ninth Circuit seeks a Court Program Specialist II to assist judges and magistrates with the timely disposition of self-represent litigants’ cases through case management, case monitoring, and program implementation . The position is responsible for handling a high volume of cases, conducting intensive case management research providing information to litigants and trial court staff; reviewing filings; making referrals; managing and preparing cases for final court hearings; briefing judges; scheduling hearings; and performing related administrative support functions. The position is responsible for collecting and reporting on case/program data and maintaining databases as needed. The selected candidate will report directly to the Family Court Case Management Coordinator. The candidate must exercise a high degree of judgment, tact, and diplomacy; maintain confidentiality on sensitive issues; have excellent organizational and computer skills; and have the ability to work independently. Must develop proficiency in using a variety of computer programs, including case management and e-filing systems. The ideal candidate will interact professionally, maintain effective working relationships, and communicate clearly both orally and in writing, using proper spelling, grammar, and punctuality. Knowledge of trial courts and applicable rules and procedures is beneficial. Bachelor’s degree in public administration, business administration, criminal justice, psychology, sociology, or a closely related field. Three years of professional, administrative, analytical related work experience required. Additional relevant experience may substitute for the recommended educational level on a year-for-year basis . Must be proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook). Work is performed in person, Monday-Friday, 7:30am - 4:30pm $23.10/hour. State funded OPS (Other Personal Services). No benefits/no holiday pay. 40 hours per week except for holiday weeks.
