We are a rapid prototyping and manufacturing facility, designing, building, and testing proof-of-concept and prototype vehicles. We have flown an average of one new aircraft type per year over our 40-plus year history such as Proteus, GlobalFlyer, SpaceShipOne, Model 401, and Stratolaunch.Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:Assisting in the monthly accounting close process, including reconciliations and journal entry preparation.Supporting Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and General Ledger activities as needed.Maintaining accurate financial records and documentation for audits and internal controls.Assisting with government compliance tasks related to CAS, FAR, and DCAA requirements (prior experience preferred but not required).Supporting project accounting activities such as billing, funding tracking, and cost reporting.Preparing basic financial reports and participating in data analysis for Program teams.Contributing to continuous improvement of accounting workflows and system processes.Providing administrative and analytical support to senior accounting staff.Participating in special projects and cross functional tasks as assigned.Education and Experience:Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related discipline.Prior accounting experience preferred; Internship or coursework in accounting considered in lieu of formal work history.Solid understanding of accounting principles and basic GAAP concepts from coursework.Ability to learn accounting systems such as Deltek Costpoint.Ability to obtain and/or maintain DoD security clearance.Required Qualifications:Good verbal and written communication skills.Good interpersonal and customer service skills.Great organizational skills and attention to detail.Great time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment.Ability to work autonomously, as well as in a team setting.Essential Job Functions:Requires mobility and the ability to bend and reachMay infrequently require lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling materials weighing up to 30 pounds.Manual dexterity and coordination are required; repetitive hand motion (e.g., to operate computer keyboard)Vision at close distances and the ability to adjust focus for prolonged periods (i.e., computer screen)Ability to remain sedentary or stationary for prolonged periods of timeAbility to write for extended periods of timeAbility to work in an office setting for prolonged periods of timeMay be asked to carry up to 20 lbs. up and down a flight of stairs on a regular basis such as files, books, office equipment, etc.Occasional reaching overhead and lifting up to 15 poundsAbility to converse and communicate information with othersOccasional exposure to chemical vapors and/or fumes in low non-hazardous concentrationPotential to climb up and down steps on a dailyMust be able to read and understand SDS
