Local currently publishes eight gorgeous magazine titles serving the greater Minneapolis–St. Paul area. Our titles showcase aspirational living across home, work, and leisure. WE ARE EXPANDING -looking to broaden our publishing foot print to include the great city of DULUTH, MN. Our publications feature original storytelling, refined design, and high-quality photography created by in-house teams. Each title delivers curated content on home décor, design, entertaining, dining, personal wellness, style, travel, and related topics for readers who value elevated local experiences. We collaborate closely with local entrepreneurs, businesses, and the education and healthcare communities to highlight the people and organizations shaping the cities we serve. Local offers a creative, collaborative environment for professionals who want to connect brands and readers through impactful community-focused media.

Role Description This full-time Sales position will be based in the Duluth, Minnesota area. The role will be responsible for developing and managing advertising and sponsorship relationships with local businesses, including prospecting, outreach, presenting opportunities, and closing sales. On a day-to-day basis, the team member will coordinate client campaigns from initial concept through publication, manage timelines and deliverables, and collaborate with editorial, design, and production teams to ensure accurate and timely execution. The role includes preparing proposals, tracking performance, maintaining up-to-date account records, and providing responsive, solutions-focused customer service. This individual will also identify new revenue opportunities, contribute to sales strategy, and represent Local at events and meetings to deepen community and client engagement.

Qualifications

  • Strong sales and account management skills, including Sales and Customer Service, with a track record of building and maintaining client relationships.
  • Demonstrated Project Coordination abilities, with experience managing multiple campaigns, deadlines, and stakeholders simultaneously.
  • Excellent Communication skills, both written and verbal, for client presentations, cross-functional collaboration, and clear documentation.
  • Solid Analytical Skills to interpret campaign results, understand market trends, and inform recommendations for clients and internal teams.
  • Proficiency with CRM tools and basic office software; familiarity with media, publishing, or advertising platforms is a plus.
  • Experience in media, publishing, advertising, or marketing within local or regional markets is preferred.
  • Ability to work effectively in a hybrid environment across on-site meetings and remote work, with strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
