Light Duty Mechanic

Light Duty Mechanic – Leesburg, VA Transdev in Leesburg, VA is seeking an experienced Light Duty Mechanic to support our fleet operations. The role focuses on diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining diesel engines across a range of vehicles and equipment, ensuring safety and efficiency. Compensation & Benefits Base pay: $24.00 – $35.00 per hour, plus $0.10 per hour for each ASE certification Vacation: minimum 2 weeks Sick days: 5 days per year Holidays: 12 days (8 standard + 4 floating) Health: medical, dental, and vision insurance 401(k) retirement plan Life insurance and short‑term disability Company‑paid ASE testing and training materials Key Responsibilities Assist with preventive maintenance (PMs), safety inspections, and annual DOT maintenance inspections Diagnose and repair vehicles and equipment, including brakes, suspensions, drivetrains, and transmissions Complete work orders accurately and on schedule Provide mobile emergency services as required Qualifications Valid driver’s license; willingness to obtain a CDL while employed At least 1 year of automotive maintenance and repair experience or technical school education Mechanic’s tool set Willingness to participate in ASE certification program; training and bonuses provided Subject to DOT drug testing and physical; compliance with 49 CFR Part 40 Physical Requirements Work outside in varying temperatures and weather conditions; 100% of work performed outdoors Ability to sit for extended periods (up to 6–8 hours per day) and walk long distances on uneven surfaces Lift up to 50 lbs. with or without assistance; push and pull objects during the workday Tolerate dust, vehicle fumes, and noise, and endure heavy traffic areas Drug‑Free Workplace Eligibility to work in the United States without sponsorship Successful completion of a pre‑employment drug screen Transdev is an Equal Employment Opportunity employer and welcomes all qualified applicants.
