Work with a team consisting of administration, general educators, related service staff, psychologist, and paraprofessionals to provide appropriate services and supports. Adhere to laws and regulations established by IDEA 2004. Responsibilities: Collaborate with general educators, related service staff, and paraprofessionals to provide specific interventions that enable students to successfully access the general education curriculum. Consistently provide accommodations and appropriately modify curriculum per Individual Education Programs and collect data regarding progress toward IEP goals. Maintain consistent communication with parents, administration, and other team members. Attend regularly scheduled meetings with the building principal, special education team, and Director of Special Education. Attend IEP meetings, develop IEP goals and benchmarks, and provide progress reports for IEP goals concurrent with issuance of report cards. Provide consultation to administration, general and special education teachers regarding students who have specific reading and written language disabilities. Perform all other duties as assigned by the Superintendent of Schools or designee. Job Requirements Qualifications: Hold Massachusetts License in Moderate Special Needs. A Master’s Degree or higher in Special Education. Experience in a public school environment working with students who have mild to moderate disabilities. Demonstrated ability to perform the responsibilities below as evidenced by coursework, educational experience, school-level involvement and/or system-wide professional activities, and the interview process.
