THE OPPORTUNITY
Reporting to the President & Chief Executive Officer of JFSLA and working closely with the JFS Care Board of Directors, the Chief Executive Officer provides strategic, operational, and financial leadership for JFS Care. The CEO currently oversees three direct reports, while leading an organization that includes more than 450 caregivers and a team of over 20 care management and administrative professionals.
Having grown from approximately $3 million to nearly $12 million in annual revenue over the past six years, JFS Care is positioned for continued expansion through organic growth, strategic partnerships, new service offerings, geographic expansion, and potential acquisitions. As a mission‑driven social enterprise, JFS Care is expected to generate meaningful unrestricted revenue for JFSLA while maintaining the quality, integrity, and people‑first culture that have become hallmarks of its success.

The next CEO will be responsible for balancing growth, operational excellence, caregiver engagement, client satisfaction, and long‑term sustainability while strengthening JFS Care's position as a trusted leader in home care and care management.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Strategic Growth & Business Development
- Develop and execute a strategic vision that positions JFS Care for continued growth, innovation, and long‑term sustainability.
- Expand revenue through organic growth, strategic partnerships, new service offerings, geographic expansion, and other business development initiatives.
- Strengthen and diversify referral relationships with healthcare providers, hospitals, fiduciaries, attorneys, financial professionals, senior living communities, and other key partners.
- Identify emerging trends and opportunities within aging services, home care, care management, and related sectors to ensure JFS Care remains responsive and competitive.
- Evaluate strategic affiliations, partnerships, and acquisition opportunities that support organizational growth and mission impact.
- Enhance JFS Care's market position and brand awareness throughout Los Angeles County and beyond.
- Foster a culture of innovation that encourages creative problem‑solving, continuous improvement, and the development of services that meet the evolving needs of older adults and their families.
Financial & Operational Leadership
- Provide overall leadership for the financial health, operational effectiveness, and long‑term sustainability of JFS Care.
- Oversee organizational planning, budgeting, forecasting, and resource allocation to ensure continued growth and strong financial performance.
- Monitor key performance indicators and leverage data to inform strategic and operational decision‑making.
- Ensure operational systems, processes, and infrastructure support a high‑quality client experience and scalable growth.
- Balance financial performance with service excellence, maintaining JFS Care's reputation for quality, responsiveness, and integrity.
- Partner with JFSLA leadership to maximize the organization's contribution to the broader mission and financial strength of Jewish Family Service LA.
Culture, Talent, & Caregiver Excellence
- Champion JFS Care's people‑first culture, recognizing that exceptional client experiences begin with engaged, supported, and valued caregivers and employees.
- Ensure the organization continues to attract, develop, and retain a high‑quality workforce in an increasingly competitive labor market.
- Foster an environment of respect, transparency, recognition, and accountability that reflects JFS Care's core values and strengthens employee engagement.
- Support initiatives that promote caregiver satisfaction, professional development, leadership growth, and long‑term retention.
- Maintain a visible and accessible leadership presence throughout the organization, reinforcing a culture of open communication and responsiveness.
- Preserve and strengthen the culture that has contributed to JFS Care's reputation as both an Employer of Choice and Provider of Choice.
Community Engagement & External Relations
- Serve as the primary ambassador, thought‑leader and spokesperson for JFS Care throughout the community.
- Cultivate and strengthen relationships with healthcare providers, referral partners, community organizations, industry associations, and other key stakeholders.
- Increase awareness of JFS Care's services, impact, and market differentiation throughout Los Angeles County.
- Represent JFS Care at professional conferences, industry events, networking opportunities, and community gatherings.
- Partner with JFSLA leadership to strengthen organizational visibility and identify opportunities for collaboration and shared impact.
- Promote JFS Care's reputation as a trusted resource for older adults, families, caregivers, and professional referral partners.
Governance & Organizational Partnership
- Work closely with the President & CEO of JFSLA and the JFS Care Board of Directors to advance organizational priorities and strategic objectives.
- Provide timely, transparent, and thoughtful communication regarding organizational performance, opportunities, and challenges.
- Support effective governance through regular reporting, strategic planning, and informed decision‑making.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable legal, regulatory, licensing, and employment requirements.
- Maintain strong internal controls, risk management practices, and organizational accountability.
- Foster productive relationships across JFS Care and JFSLA, ensuring alignment with shared values, mission, and long‑term goals.

CAREER TRACK LEADING TO THIS POSITION
The ideal candidate will bring a demonstrated record of leadership within a service‑oriented organization where people, relationships, and client experience are central to success. Candidates may come from a variety of sectors, including home care, home health, aging services, care management, senior living, healthcare services, hospitality, or other service‑intensive industries.
Experience leading and scaling a service‑based organization or business unit will be important, particularly in environments where growth was achieved through a combination of referral expansion, strategic partnerships, new service offerings, and potentially acquisitions or other growth‑oriented initiatives. The successful candidate will have demonstrated strong financial acumen and meaningful P&L responsibility, with the ability to balance growth objectives, operational excellence, and long‑term sustainability.
Candidates should bring experience building and developing high‑performing leadership teams, operational infrastructure, and business development capabilities that support organizational growth and performance. Exposure to high‑touch service environments serving discerning consumers will be viewed favorably, as will experience expanding market presence, strengthening referral relationships, and identifying new opportunities for growth and innovation.
Candidates from both nonprofit and for‑profit environments will be considered. While prior nonprofit experience is not required, an appreciation for mission‑driven work and an understanding of how strong business performance can advance broader community impact will be important.
The strongest candidates will have demonstrated the ability to build organizations, lead through change, and scale operations while maintaining service quality, organizational culture, and employee engagement. Experience working effectively with boards, executive leadership teams, and diverse stakeholder groups will also be valuable.
COMPENSATION & ADDITIONAL CONSIDERATIONS
This position offers a base salary of $325,000, complemented by a significant performance‑based bonus tied to organizational results. The base salary is subject to annual review, and a comprehensive benefits package is included.
The CEO is expected to maintain a highly visible presence throughout the organization and community. This role is based in Los Angeles and requires regular in‑person engagement with employees, caregivers, clients, referral partners, JFSLA leadership, and the Board of Directors.
