DescriptionLicensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) Residency – February 2027 Come and join our LVN Residency Program! We invite graduate LVN’s to apply for this unique opportunity. The next cohort will begin on February 22, 2027.Integrated into a Hospital’s education structure, the Texas Health LVN Residency Program includes a guided clinical experience with an instructor-led core curriculum, a formal mentoring program, informative debriefing/self-care sessions and supportive 360-degree evaluations. Residents not only participate in the learning experience on their personally selected home units, but they also rotate/cross train through other departments to gain an expanded nursing experience vital to the complex patient care.The Texas Health LVN Program is a comprehensive, evidence based on-boarding program with a 15-month employment commitment that offers new LVN’s an exciting opportunity to gain the experience, judgment, skills, and confidence to successfully navigate the complexity of hospital life.Where you will be working:Work location: Texas Health Fort Worth - 1301 Pennsylvania Ave, Fort Worth, TX 76104Work environment: Med SurgWork hours: Upon completion of the Residency, anticipated hours will be full-time, (3)-12-hour shifts; rotating weekends, holidays, and on call shifts requiredDepartment Highlights:28-Bed Med/Surg Telemetry unit with Neuro Overflow. Ratio for RNs are anywhere from 3 to 5 patients. We take COPD, Diabetic complications, amputations, infections/wounds, Sepsis, Trachs, Chest tubes, fresh amputations/colostomy's/I&Ds and other similar surgical procedures, GI Bleeds, Failure to Thrive. One negative pressure room for TB and other airborne precautions. We do have LVNs on the unit as well. QualificationsPlease provide the following during the application: • Resume • Official nursing school transcript (Unofficial transcript accepted until official is available) • Exemplar/Essay: In one-to-two pages, tell a story of a clinical situation that was especially meaningful to you as a student nurse and that has helped shape your practice today Things you need for the position:Graduate of an accredited vocational nursing program required.Acceptance into THR residency program required.Graduated within the last 12 months preferred.Less than one-year experience at the time the residency begins preferred.Have not previously completed a THR nursing residency preferred.LVN - Licensed Vocational Nurse upon hire required.BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly required.Texas Health Harris Methodist Fort Worth Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital Fort Worth has a longstanding history of providing advanced medical care.
