Certified Medical Assistant

Job Summary It’s more than a career, it’s a calling. Provides assistance with the examination and treatment of patients under the direction of a registered nurse or provider (physician or advanced practice provider). Responsibilities Assists with treatments ordered by provider and supervised by provider or registered nurse. Performs select clinical duties including patient rooming, office procedure assistance, injection and vaccine administration. Interviews patients, measures vital signs, and records information on patients' charts. Prepares treatment rooms for patient examination. Performs basic clerical duties: answering phone, maintaining records, scheduling patients, filing. Manages supplies by ordering and stocking materials. Maintains a clean and orderly environment. Documents provider encounters, listing diagnoses, symptoms, follow‑up instructions and prescriptions. Transcribes orders for laboratory tests, radiology tests, and medications. Works in a constant state of alertness and safe manner, performs other duties as assigned. Qualifications High School diploma or GED (or 10 years of work experience) and graduate from medical assistant school or training program, or possess an equivalent certification. No experience required. Comfortable with hands‑on patient care; open to new experiences and challenges; ambitious, motivated, and sympathetic in nature. Eligible professional licenses/certifications: Certified Clinical Medical Assistant, Certified Medical Assistant, Clinical Medical Assistant Certification, Medical Assistant (RMA), or equivalent. Requires a 40‑hour week Day Shift schedule; shifts vary between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.; no nights, weekends, or holidays. Physical Requirements Constant standing and walking; frequent hearing, speech, and vision tasks; frequent lifting of 0–25 lbs.; occasional lifting of 25–50 lbs.; occasional patient moving and driving. Authorized Licenses and Certifications State of work location in Illinois, Missouri, Oklahoma, or Wisconsin requires Basic Life Support HealthCare Provider and one of the medical assistant certifications listed.
