Certified Athletic Trainer

This program is an internship designed for the young Athletic Trainer seeking experience in the Division I sports setting. To assist with the supervision and coordination of the University’s overall sports medicine program, including, but not limited to: injury prevention, evaluation, management, and treatment of athletic injuries, short-term and long-term rehabilitation of athletic injuries, education and counseling of student-athletes, and athletics related health care administration in consultation with and under the supervision of the Head Athletic Trainer, Team Physician(s) and other qualified medical personnel. Program Emphasis Independent care of at least one sport program, with the opportunity to collaboratively care for additional sport programs over the course of the year. Emphasis of this position will be providing sports medicine coverage, including practice coverage as well as home and away game coverage. Working alongside Team physicians on a weekly basis in the athletic training room. Directly observing and interacting with physicians and specialists in their private practice and surgical setting.
