About the Role
The Company is seeking an Executive Director for its Athletic Foundation. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating fundraising and related events to maintain and enhance relationships with the diverse community of the athletic programs. This role involves encouraging alumni and friends to support existing initiatives and developing new strategies to increase support for the foundation. The Executive Director will also provide administrative support, including communication with members, agenda preparation, and collaboration with the Executive Committee on long-range planning and fundraising. While the role reports to the Senior Vice President for University Advancement, the Executive Director will work closely with the Athletic Foundation Board, the Athletic Director, and other staff to set and achieve fundraising goals. Applicants must have a bachelor's degree and a minimum of 3 years' experience in fundraising, sports marketing, or a related field. The role requires a valid driver's license and the ability to travel, with a flexible schedule that includes evenings and weekends. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in gift solicitation, cultivation, and stewardship, or in comparable sales, marketing, or business development roles. Strong leadership, team-building, and communication skills are essential, as is the ability to engage stakeholders and foster productive partnerships. The Executive Director will be expected to demonstrate a deep understanding of fundraising principles and best practices, as well as the ability to effectively promote the goals and mission of the athletic program to a variety of audiences.
