Tutor

Literacy Rochester

Do you want to make a difference in someone’s life? Join us as a volunteer tutor and help adults in our community gain the reading, math, or English Language skills they need to succeed.

Work with adults (18+) on reading and math (below 9th grade level) or English as a New Language (ENL).
Meet with students one-on-one in public locations throughout Monroe County.
Follow an individualized learning plan designed for each student.
Support students at their own pace to help them build confidence and achieve their goals.

All students complete pre-testing before being matched with a tutor, ensuring a strong foundation for success. Training and ongoing support are provided—no prior teaching experience required.
