Cafeteria Worker
Qualifications: Must demonstrate an aptitude for successful performance of the responsibilities listed below.
Must meet state medical requirements.
Reports To: Cafeteria Manager
Job Goal: To serve the students attractive and nutritious meals in an atmosphere of efficiency, cleanliness and friendliness.
Performance Responsibilities:
- Assist in the preparation of food portions, prepare cafeteria counter and serve food in a quick and pleasant manner.
- Serve students and staff from the cafeteria counter.
- Remove used dishes and assist in the cleaning of counters, tables and furnishings in the dining area.
- Maintain the trash/garbage collection area in a neat and sanitary fashion.
- Perform related duties during contract hours as required including duties at special meal functions.
- Maintain highest standards of safety and cleanliness in the kitchen.
- Prepare food according to the planned menu.
- See that, during meal service periods, the supply of food offered is replenished regularly.
- Assist in the daily clean-up of the kitchen and service areas.
- Perform major cleaning of refrigerators and storerooms at regularly scheduled intervals as designated by the cafeteria manager.
- Assume responsibility for storage and disposal of unused foods.
- Serve each menu item with the correct utensil.
- Take food temperatures (on the serving line) to ensure food safety.
- Serve as cashier when needed.
- Be open and flexible to accept change in daily routine and special needs in the cafeteria.
Terms Of Employment: Salary and work year established by School Board.
Evaluation: Performance of this job will be evaluated annually in accordance with provisions of the School Board's policy on Evaluation of Non-Professional Personnel.
