East Side Animal Hospital is looking for an experienced Registered Veterinary Technician or Veterinary Assistant to join us as part of the Thrive Pet Healthcare community.

As a Veterinary Technician/Assistant, you'll play an important role in pets' lives by providing end-to-end care for our precious patients. Our Veterinary Technicians/Assistants are the heartbeat of our team and work side by side with our Veterinarians (DVMs) during procedures. A full-time position would require working between 30-40 hours a week, which includes a combination of day & evening shifts.


Role Responsibilities:

• Assisting DVMs during procedures by restraining animals, conducting tests, monitoring vitals, and administering medications.
• Maintaining medical records and communicating with clients on their pets' medical procedures, including treatment plans and costs
• Maintaining examination, treatment, and surgical suite, including maintenance of equipment such as anesthetic machines/ monitors, x-ray machines, dental, and autoclaving equipment.
• Must be comfortable and confident handling dogs and cats of all sizes

Experience & Skills Requirements:

• Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) or RVT-eligible preferred; experienced Veterinary Assistants encouraged to apply
• 1-2 years of veterinary clinic experience preferred
• Excellent communication and customer service skills with a positive, friendly attitude
• Team-oriented and able to work collaboratively
• Detail-oriented and organized
• Professional and courteous with clients and team members
• Able to multitask and adapt in a fast-paced environment
• Stays calm and responds effectively in emergency situations
• Self-motivated with a desire to learn and grow
• Supports veterinarians with technical and administrative tasks
• Flexible schedule availability
• Willing to cross-train and assist with front desk duties as needed
• Compassionate about animal care and committed to providing exceptional client service

Compensation is negotiable based on credentials and experience. The actual rate offered will carefully consider a wide range of factors, including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
