About the Role

The Company is in search of a Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to join its executive leadership team. The CFO will be a key player in the organization's financial health, operational effectiveness, and long-term sustainability. This role is pivotal in the current landscape of educator preparation and higher education, where the focus is on stabilizing the organizational model, strengthening member value, and expanding non-dues revenue. The successful candidate will be responsible for strategic financial leadership, including the oversight and refinement of the multi-year budget, and will serve as a trusted thought partner to the President and CEO, senior leadership, and the Board of Directors. Key responsibilities for the CFO include financial reporting, budgeting, and analysis, as well as overseeing core finance and accounting functions, and providing strategic support for new initiatives and revenue modeling. The ideal CFO for the company will have a minimum of 8 years' experience in finance, accounting, or operational leadership, with a strong background in nonprofit or association finance. They should be adept at financial modeling, scenario planning, and have a proven track record of supervising and mentoring finance staff. The role requires a leader who is both strategic and hands-on, capable of balancing vision with execution, and who is deeply aligned with the mission of the organization. The CFO will be expected to be a collaborative and transparent leader, fostering a culture of financial literacy, accountability, and shared responsibility. A Bachelor's degree in a relevant field is required, with a preference for advanced credentials such as a CPA or MBA. The candidate should also have experience with financial systems and be committed to the values of diversity, equity, and inclusion.
