JOB TITLE: Maintenance Technician

DEPARTMENT: Operations

GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION

To provide routine maintenance, service and repairs as needed in the warehouse for all

processing equipment. This routine service includes working with the operations manager and

safety manager to ensure all equipment is routinely cleaned, to reduce dust contamination and

reduce fire risk in and around each piece of operating equipment. This role works directly

with the operations manager and safety coordinator. Additional duties when not servicing

equipment includes providing material handling support in the warehouse and or as otherwise

directed by the operations or safety manager.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES

1 Conduct regular inspections of machinery to identify and document any issues or

potential problems.

2 Document and perform routine maintenance tasks such as cleaning, lubricating, and

adjusting equipment.

3 Document and diagnose mechanical issues and troubleshoot problems to determine the

root cause.

4 Document and repair or replace defective parts as needed to ensure the proper

functioning of the machinery and any repairs around the warehouse if needed. In

addition, provide corrective solutions.

5 Keep detailed maintenance records and documentation for each piece of operating

equipment int the warehouse.

6 Documentation noted above must be turned in and signed off by management daily.

7 Follow safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a safe working environment.

8 Collaborate with other team members SM/OM to coordinate maintenance schedules

and Safety procedures.

9 Have a complete understanding of Standard Operating Procedures for all equipment

installed in the facility. This includes having a detailed understanding or each technical

schematic or manual to repair, identify issues and or provide routine maintenance.

10 Work with the operations manager in creating and managing a calendar of service

duties for each piece of equipment to maximize processing capabilities and minimize

downtime.

11 Communicate with operations or safety manager for back up forklift and other duties.

MINOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Regularly inspecting buildings, grounds, machines, and equipment to identify potential

issues.

2. Communicate with the Safety Manager for any unsafe issues that need repair.

KEY COMPETENCIES

1.Basic computer skills

Microsoft, Excel, Outlook, Word competent.

2.Understanding of safe practices around the use of hand/power tools, special equipment for

making repairs.

3.Understanding safe practices using lift equipment, ladders and scaffolding safely in and

outside the warehouse.

4. Be able to diagnose and report issues-problems with equipment breakdowns quickly.

Show an understanding of how to safely address breakdowns with equipment.

5. Understand the importance of practicing personal safety in regard to wearing the proper

safety gear at all times when in the warehouse and or in and around equipment.

6. Must have some basic knowledge or understanding of conveyor belts and rollers.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

1. Must be able to bend, stretch, kneel, and squat to perform repairs and inspections.

2. Must be able to lift 50 pounds at time.

3. Must be able to work safely.
