Schedule / Job Type

Contract (13 Weeks) | Full-Time | Days, 12-Hour Shifts (6:30 AM – 7:00 PM) | Onsite

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a high-acuity Cardiac/Telemetry Medical-Surgical unit (41 beds) with a patient population including AFib with RVR, CHF, COPD, sepsis, BH/CIWA, post-ablation, dialysis, and heart cath without interventions
• Perform continuous telemetry monitoring and 12-lead EKG interpretation ; travelers are expected to pass telemetry competency testing
• Initiate and titrate drips including antiarrhythmics, Heparin, aminophylline, Cardizem, Tikosyn, and Amiodarone
• Manage chest tubes, indwelling drains, nephrostomy tubes, CBI, and PIV insertion
• Float within skillset to a secondary campus with a minimum of 2 hours notice; mid-shift float within the same campus may also occur
• May be required to precept students and new hires at this teaching facility

Required Qualifications

• Current, active compact RN license required
• AHA BLS certification required
• AHA ACLS certification required
• NIHSS certification required
• Minimum 2 years of strong Cardiac/Telemetry experience; at least 1 prior travel assignment and Trauma Level II experience required
• Recent Epic EMR experience required
• Must live at least 40 miles from the facility to be eligible

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Strong assessment and critical thinking skills with the ability to manage high-acuity, rapidly changing patient conditions
• Experience initiating and managing complex drip protocols in a cardiac or telemetry setting
• Demonstrated adaptability, resilience, and ability to work effectively within a team-oriented unit culture
