Senior Highway Engineer

Responsibilities Serve in the lead technical role in the detailed development of rural and urban roadway design projects Perform quality assurance checks on major transportation projects on interstate and state highway systems Serve as a technical expert with recognized authority in an area of specialization that resolves problems of greater scope and complexity Serve as a technical expert and provide guidance for technical staff Assume some project management duties and interact with clients as needed Supervise work of medium sized staff of professionals and technicians as needed Perform other duties as needed Utilize CADD production and modeling software including Openroads Designer and MicroStation SS10 Preferred Qualifications MSCE (Master of Science in Civil Engineering) Advanced Temporary Traffic Control Certification Experience with Civil 3D, InRoads, Microsoft Office applications Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree A minimum of 10 years experience in all aspects of roadway engineering design Professional engineering license recognized by the licensing board for the location of the position offered (e.g., Professional Engineer (PE or P.Eng) license) Demonstrated leadership skills, communication skills and ability to work with various teams Project management skills desirableExperience should include urban and rural highway interchanges, intersection design, traffic management, transportation planning, site planning, preparation of concept alignments, geometrical layout and CAD base alignment plans Must have coordinated survey, grading, drainage and utilities and layout of various site items is a plus An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must Primary Location: United States – Florida – Orlando #J-18808-Ljbffr HDR, Inc.
