Job Title Federal College Work Study – Student (Recs – Tennis) Agency - Texas A&M International University, Department of Recreational Sports Job Summary Under the supervision and guidance of the Student Manager and Recreational Sports staff, assist with the daily operations of the Tennis Complex, provide customer service to ensure a positive environment for members, and assist with tennis events and programs. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Provide excellent customer service to ensure a positive experience for members. Assist with the daily operations of the Tennis Complex, including implementation of proper opening and closing procedures. Assist in preparation, supervision, and tear-down of special events held in Rec Sports facilities. Assist with member verification to facilitate proper access to the facility. Assist professional staff with the implementation of outreach programs and activities for elementary, middle school, and high school students. Attend and actively participate in meetings and training sessions. Maintain safety and positive environment, implementing university and Rec Sports guidelines, emergency protocol, CPR/AED, evacuation procedures, blood‑borne pathogen handling, and shelter during severe weather. Perform other related duties as assigned. Minimum Requirements Enrolled at least half‑time (6 credit hours per semester for undergraduates, 3 for graduates). Maintain a TAMIU overall GPA of 2.0 for undergraduates and 3.0 for graduates. Have a current and complete file with the Office of Financial Aid. Demonstrate financial need by submitting a FAFSA application annually. U.S. citizenship, permanent residence, or eligible non‑citizen with an alien registration number. Meet all other requirements as stated in TAMIU’s Satisfactory Academic Progress Policy (SAPP). Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Excellent communication and conflict‑resolution skills. Knowledge and implementation of university policies and departmental guidelines. Ability to maintain a positive work environment, punctuality, professional dress, behavior, and attitude. Ability to adapt to a fast‑paced environment. Registrations, Certifications, and Licenses Must obtain a CPR/AED certification within 60 days of employment. Work Schedules Position requires on‑campus, face‑to‑face interactions and maintaining a regular schedule of attendance on campus and in the workplace. Work schedules are created by the department based on departmental needs but must not conflict with class schedule. Prompt completion of required training, bi‑weekly timesheet submission, and some evening and weekend work may be required. Position may require moving and lifting objects/materials, as necessary. Subject to funding and/or need. Compensation Pay rate: $8.00 per hour for up to 19 hours weekly. Security All positions are security‑sensitive.
