Sanitation Supervisor

Sanitation SupervisorThe Sanitation Supervisor is responsible for leading and coordinating sanitation staff to ensure a clean, safe, and compliant environment across non-production areas, including break rooms, offices, and restrooms. This role oversees daily cleaning operations, enforces sanitation standards, and supports a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement within the facility.Key ResponsibilitiesSupervise, schedule, and assign daily tasks to sanitation techniciansEnsure all break rooms, offices, restrooms, and common areas meet company cleanliness and sanitation standardsConduct routine inspections and audits to maintain quality and complianceTrain new hires and provide ongoing coaching to sanitation staff on procedures, safety, and chemical handlingMonitor inventory levels of cleaning supplies and coordinate reordering as neededEnsure proper use, storage, and maintenance of cleaning equipment and chemicals (SDS compliance)Address employee concerns, performance issues, and attendance in alignment with company policiesCollaborate with maintenance and operations teams to resolve facility-related issuesSupport deep cleaning, special projects, and preparation for audits or leadership visitsMaintain documentation of cleaning schedules, inspections, and corrective actionsPromote and enforce all safety policies, including PPE usage and hazard communicationRequirementsQualificationsHigh school diploma or GED required; associate degree or certifications in facilities, sanitation, or safety preferred2–5 years of custodial/sanitation experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment1+ year of supervisory or team lead experience preferredKnowledge of cleaning chemicals, equipment, and OSHA safety standardsStrong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skillsPhysical RequirementsAbility to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 40 lbs regularlyAbility to perform and demonstrate cleaning tasks as neededComfortable working in a manufacturing environmentWork EnvironmentManufacturing facility with exposure to noise, dust, and varying temperaturesMay require flexible scheduling, including evenings or weekendsKey CompetenciesLeadership and team developmentAccountability and ownershipAttention to detailTime management and prioritizationSafety and compliance mindsetContinuous improvement focus
