Job Summary

As Head Estimator, you’ll lead construction estimating from drawing review through project pricing and budget development. You’ll assess project scope, material requirements, labor, and costs to prepare clear, competitive estimates for commercial construction. You’ll coordinate with clients and project teams, apply sound cost management, and help ensure estimates support informed project decisions.

Duties

• Review blueprints and construction drawings to define scope and estimate material requirements, pricing, and project budgets.
• Lead estimating work, manage projects as a construction estimator, and use estimating software such as Bluebeam, Sage and AutoCAD.
• Apply cost control practices and construction management software to organize estimates, track information, and support project management.
• Communicate with clients and project stakeholders; negotiate pricing and clarify project requirements.
• Use Microsoft Office and spreadsheets to prepare, check, and present estimates. Your impact: Accurate, well-supported estimates help clients and project teams make confident decisions and manage construction costs.

Requirements

• Construction estimating experience, including estimation for commercial construction; construction industry experience is essential.
• Strong blueprint reading, construction drawing review, and ability to interpret technical drawings.
• Experience estimating material costs and requirements, pricing work, and estimating construction project budgets.
• Knowledge of cost management and cost control, with construction site experience and project management skills.
• Familiarity with estimating software, construction management software, Bluebeam, Sage, CAD, Microsoft Office, and spreadsheets; strong client communication and negotiation skills.
