Cook Position

Cabinet Peaks Medical Center is seeking a cook for our cafe! PRN status.

The cook is responsible for preparing, cooking and serving food for patients, staff and visitors. Must work in a clean manner following proper food handling techniques. Must maintain and update knowledge of all equipment and supplies used in the dietary department.

Major job duties and responsibilities include:

• Preparing the meals as assigned following the menu.
• Pulling the assigned prep foods.
• Acting appropriately as a supervisor on shift when required.
• Food served is high quality.
• Completing the daily task sheets and other assigned paperwork properly.
• Maintaining the kitchen areas in a clean and orderly manner.
• Restocking supplies if needed.
• Reporting any equipment failures.
• Using chemicals appropriately.
• Refilling all necessary supplies and dispensers as required.
• Following cooling procedures correctly.
• Wearing protective personal equipment as required.
• Participating and contributing to department performance improvement and quality programs and initiatives.
• Utilizing attendance systems per organizational and departmental guidelines.
• Doing Meditech reports as assigned.

Schedule: As needed based on the needs of the department.

Educational requirements: Safe Serve preferred.

Experience: Previous health care cooking experience preferred.

Skills, knowledge, abilities:

• Must be able to prepare meals as assigned.
• Knowledge of commercial kitchen equipment.
• Ability to read, write and speak English.
• Ability to follow written and oral instructions, including basic computer use.
• Must meet all local health regulation requirements including a criminal background investigation and reference inquiry.
