This company is redefining the customer interaction landscape by enabling real-time adjustments to AI agent behavior while maintaining full control over the underlying code, allowing businesses to transition from concept to production in a matter of weeks.

What You Will Do

• Define and lead the architectural direction for voice agent systems, focusing on real-time audio pipelines and streaming infrastructure.
• Spearhead cross-functional engineering projects from inception to production, collaborating with product, infrastructure, and AI teams.
• Design and develop low-latency, high-reliability systems that facilitate live interactions between AI agents and users.
• Troubleshoot complex issues across audio processing, networking, and model-driven components to ensure seamless performance.
• Establish and uphold engineering standards organization-wide, emphasizing code quality, scalability, and maintainability.
• Mentor and develop junior engineers, fostering a culture of technical excellence and collaboration.
• Assess and integrate new technologies and best practices relevant to the development of real-time audio and voice agent systems.

Ideal Candidate Background

• 8+ years of software engineering experience with a proven track record of significant technical leadership and impact.
• Expertise in real-time systems, streaming pipelines, or audio-based applications, with a strong understanding of low-latency architectures.
• Exceptional coding and system design skills, capable of navigating both hands-on implementation and high-level architectural decisions.
• Strong debugging capabilities across audio systems, networking, and model inference behavior.
• Experience operating at a staff engineer level, influencing technical strategy and leading initiatives across teams.

Preferred

• Experience with designing or maintaining large language model-driven applications or other model-powered systems.
• Familiarity with speech recognition/synthesis technologies, streaming protocols, or optimizations for low-latency audio performance.
