The Registered Nurse - Operating Room is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, evaluating, and documenting nursing care for patients in accordance with organizational policies and professional nursing practice standards. This role is accountable for the quality of nursing services delivered directly or through others under supervision, utilizing specialized knowledge, judgment, and nursing skills.

Responsibilities:

• Assess patient needs, including physical, psychological, social, spiritual, educational, developmental, and cultural factors.
• Formulate a comprehensive plan of care in collaboration with patients, families, and the healthcare team.
• Implement nursing care based on physician orders and the established plan of care.
• Evaluate patient responses and outcomes, revising care plans as necessary to achieve desired outcomes.
• Document all aspects of patient care in compliance with policies and procedures.
• Participate in the education and orientation of facility personnel and support the growth of others through mentoring.
• Engage in department activities aimed at improving patient outcomes and nursing quality indicators.
• Provide administrative relief charge for staff when necessary.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure:

• Associate's Degree or Diploma in Nursing or higher.
• Current, valid RN license in the state of practice.
• BLS and ACLS certifications are required; PALS certification must be obtained within 90 days if assigned to pediatrics.
• Minimum one year of licensed RN experience in the Operating Room for full-time/part-time positions; two years for PRN.
• Additional OR or perioperative nursing experience is strongly preferred.
