About the Role
The Company is seeking a Dean for the School of Science and Technology. The ideal candidate will be a visionary leader dedicated to advancing student success, strengthening institutional capacity, and supporting innovation. The Dean will be responsible for preserving the school's distinctive mission and culture, which is deeply student-centered and characterized by small class sizes, high-touch educational experiences, and meaningful faculty engagement. The role involves overseeing the growth of the school, which currently offers a range of Bachelor of Science degree programs in various scientific and technological fields, as well as related minors and certificate programs. The Dean will also be involved in the launch of new concentrations, such as the one in AI, and will play a key role in promoting environmental stewardship through education and community engagement. Candidates for the Dean position should have a strong academic background, with a terminal degree in a relevant field, and a proven track record in academic leadership. The role requires a leader who can foster a culture of excellence, integrity, accountability, and respect, in line with the core values of the University System of Georgia. Experience in program development, faculty recruitment and retention, and a commitment to diversity and inclusion in higher education are essential. The successful candidate will be a strategic thinker, capable of managing resources effectively and ensuring the continued growth and success of the School of Science and Technology.
