Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with physicians to develop and evaluate individualized plans of care aimed at returning patients to optimal health
• Provide direct bedside nursing care and carry out medical orders in an ICU setting
• Delegate and coordinate nursing care tasks and assignments for ancillary personnel, including Nurse Assistants and Patient Care Associates
• Integrate evidence-based knowledge into practice and facilitate participation in patient care conferences
• Identify and communicate patients' ongoing and discharge/transfer teaching needs with appropriate resource persons
• Function as a team leader to ensure proper patient placement, delegation of assignments, and preceptorship of new staff and students

Required Qualifications

• Active Michigan Registered Nurse (RN) license
• Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required
• Must be comfortable floating to the Emergency Department and Step-Down unit
• BLS (AHA), ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required — documentation must be provided
• Must live more than 35 miles from the facility to be eligible at standard travel rates

Preferred Experience / Skills

• TCAR, TNCC, CCRN, or SCRN certification (documentation required if held)
• Prior travel nursing experience
• Neurosurgical experience
• Open heart experience
