Music Teacher and School Choir Director

Full-Time Music Teacher Duties Instruction

• Teach general music classes for students in PreK-8.
• Develop engaging lesson plans aligned with state standards and the school's curriculum.
• Teach music theory, rhythm, singing, movement, listening skills, and appreciation of various musical styles.
• Introduce students to liturgical and sacred music.
• Assess student progress and provide report card grades and comments.
• Differentiate instruction to meet diverse learning needs.

• Plan and lead music for school Masses, prayer services, and other liturgical celebrations.
• Teach students appropriate liturgical hymns and responses.
• Collaborate with the principal, pastor, and religion teachers to prepare for the liturgical year (Advent, Christmas, Lent, Easter, Holy Days, etc.).

• Direct school concerts (Christmas, Spring Concert, Talent Show, etc.).
• Prepare students for special performances at school and parish events.
• Organize and direct school choir, if applicable.
• Coordinate rehearsals and performance schedules.

• Maintain a positive, respectful classroom environment.
• Organize and maintain the music room.

• Work collaboratively with classroom teachers, specials teachers, and administration.
• Communicate regularly with parents regarding student progress and performances.
• Participate in faculty meetings, professional development, and school committees.
