Description:

We are looking for a sharp, executive-level Senior Program Manager to take full ownership of this program. In this role, you will be the driving force behind our daily operations, leading our team, managing high-level deliverables, and holding full authority to make rapid decisions and allocate corporate resources. You will serve as the face of the program, providing a steady, reliable leadership presence and acting as the direct point of contact for senior leadership during core business hours.

Requirements:

Program Leadership & Client Relations

  • Act as the primary, authoritative bridge between corporate leadership, key client stakeholders, and program sponsors.
  • Exercise independent judgment to make quick, impactful operational decisions and pull in corporate resources wherever needed.
  • Work closely with a designated alternate leader to ensure seamless coverage and zero drop-off in management oversight when you are away.

Operational Tracking & Team Management

  • Lead, mentor, and organize the day-to-day workload for a specialized, cross-functional team.
  • Oversee complex, headquarters-level healthcare administration initiatives, ensuring all team deliverables are accurate, high-quality, and submitted on time.
  • Keep the wheels turning smoothly by managing staff schedules, onboarding trackers, and productivity metrics to maintain a stable, high-performing workforce.
  • Build and implement clear, practical workflows and quality controls to track milestones, keep projects on schedule, and get ahead of operational risks before they cause issues.
  • Deliver regular, straightforward briefings to executive leadership on program health, milestones, and progress.
  • Use top-tier communication skills to break down complex health administration concepts into clear, actionable insights for senior executives.
  • Ensure the entire team stays fully compliant with all security protocols, network access rules, facility badging, and mandatory annual training (like HIPAA).

Minimum Qualifications

The Senior Program Manager must possess the following minimum qualifications to be considered:

  • Education: A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Health Administration, Healthcare Management, Program Management, or a closely related field. Academic transcripts must verify a minimum of 24 semester hours explicitly dedicated to health administration, health systems management, and/or program/project management courses.
  • Military Health System (MHS) Experience: A minimum of 15 years of direct experience working within the MHS, to include deep, functional familiarity with patient administration, health record management, and the full lifecycle of the Department of Defense (DoD) health record.
  • Professional Credentials: Candidates must maintain active, current credentials from each of the following three categories:
    1. Project Management: Project Management Professional (PMP)® certification.
    2. Process Improvement: Certified Lean Six Sigma credentials (Green Belt or Black Belt).
    3. Health Information / Medical Coding: Active certification issued by the American Academy of Professional Coders (AAPC) OR a Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA®) certification issued by the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA).

Additional Requirements & Availability

  • Professional Experience: 16+ years of progressive program and project management experience.
  • Core Schedule: Full-time operational availability from 0830 to 1700 (8:30 AM to 5:00 PM), Monday through Friday, excluding federal holidays and administrative government closures.
  • Location & Travel: Based in Falls Church, VA, with travel required as operationally directed.
  • Security Clearance: Must successfully obtain and maintain a Tier II (Non-Critical Sensitive) Position of Trust background investigation for the duration of the contract to secure a DoD Common Access Card (CAC).
