Lead Behavioral Health Clinician

Location 301 6th Street,Santa Rosa, CA, 95401,United States Base Pay $95,680.00 - $112,320.00 / Year Job Category Homelessness Solutions Employee Type Exempt - FT Required Degree Masters Travel 25% Manage Others Yes Position Summary The Lead Behavioral Health Clinician is responsible for providing comprehensive support to clients receiving services at CCNWC, with the goal of increasing their mental wellbeing and ability to live independent, healthy lives in the community. Applying a trauma-informed lens, this position supports clients through Mental and Behavioral intervention and rehabilitation by providing services such as assistance in accessing mental health care, teaching symptom management strategies, relapse prevention, harm reduction, independent living skills development, health and wellness education, coaching, crisis intervention, and facilitating referrals to behavioral health resources and opportunities for community integration. The Lead Behavioral Health Clinician also lends support to staff by providing training and consultations as part of the team. Essential Functions

1. Maintain agency documentation adhering to standards outlined bysupervisorwithin the required timeframe.
2. Document, record, and enter data necessary foragencyperformance measures. Maintain clientclinicalrecordsensuringthattheyareaccurate,concise, and timely. Complete documentation in Homeless Management Information System (HMIS) and Datalink as needed, including the development of language, forms, procedures, workflow, clinical data, and information for the EMR for use in datalink to be able to chart the Behavioral Health program overall.
3. Work as part of a team , providing prompt communication, consultation to all team members and community providers via phone, email and direct contact.
4. Conduct clinical assessments with adult clients to obtain information to complete a comprehensive biological/psychological social assessment.
5. Maintain a working knowledge of how to present within a Multi-Disciplinary Team (MDT) that necessitates collaboration with team members from internal and external entities.
6. Provide comfortable therapy to PSH clients in the field, including adults with co-occurring substance abuse issues, and mental/physical/developmental disabilities.
7. Establish participant treatment plans that correlate with clinical assessment.
8. Assist participants to resolve or cope with mental, emotional, medical, and/or substance-related problems.
9. Assist in determining the case management and rehabilitation services needed to connect with other mental health services.
10. Provide services to individuals residing in agency housing, including individual counseling, group counseling, and co-occurring counseling.
11. Build rapport with individuals and staff of various community organizations that serve homeless individuals, families, low-income households, and other CCNWC target populations.
12. Inform, educate, and refer PSH individuals about/to CCNWC programs and services available to them.
13. Maintain appropriate boundaries and adhere to CCNWC’s values.
14. Developandimplementcareplans that areconsistentwithprogramstructureand philosophy.
15. Teach,coachandsupportparticipantsinlearningtrauma informed skillstoaddress behavioral health concerns. Utilize psycho-social rehabilitationpractices to provide general counselingandguidance with clients in a manner that facilitates individual growth.
16. Providesystem navigationforparticipants experiencing acute mentalhealthchallenges. Assist inaccessing various medical, detention andpsychiatric carefacilitiesas needed anddirected. Encourage client efforts at utilizing community supports and peer-based supports, such as the Wellness Center, Alcoholics Anonymous, and Narcotics Anonymous.
17. Providecrisisintervention andcrisismanagementservicesas needed.
18. Facilitateandleadgroupmeetingsandactivitiesasneededand directed.
19. Participateandcontributetoprogramplanning andagencycommitteesas directed.
20. Participateinoutreachand communitybuildingactivitiesas required
21. Ensureservicesaredeliveredwithculturalsensitivityandinthepreferredlanguageof client
22. Provide training and consultation to program staff including provision of clinical supervision to staff or interns as needed, including conducting parenting groups in the absence of clinical intern, and providing other duties as needed in the event the clinical intern is unavailable, such as providing individual crisis intervention/sessions with participants in shelter, as needed.
23. Provide full oversight of 5150 holds (assessing for, placing individuals on, and overseeing).
24. Review all assessments and care plans for ECM.
25. Provide all Board of Behavioral Sciences (BBS) approved clinical supervision to the Behavioral Health Clinician(s).
26. Work with program leadership to assess the feasibility and structure needed for behavioral health projects.
27. ECM clinical oversight, including signoff of case plans, support and administrative participation.
28. Provide and create training for ECM to agency programs, both within PSH and in support of larger agency needs.
29. Support the Mission, Vision, and Values of Catholic Charities in the performance of all essential job functions and responsibilities.

Education, Experience, and Skills Required

1. Master's degree in social work or a related field, licensed with the California Board of Behavioral Sciences, fiveormoreyears ofexperience in a behavioral health organization, required; two plus yearsof supervisory experience preferred. Eight additional years of social work experience may substitute for a master’s degree.
2. Strong understanding of individual andgroup dynamics.
3. Excellent organizationaland crisis managementskills,strongboundaries andknowledge oftrauma responses, knowledge ofethics, documentation, treatment planning, and assessment.
4. Two or more years of experience with electronic health records (EHR) preferred.
5. Oneormoreyearsofexperience infirstresponder-relatedfield,preferred.
6. Ability to work inanindependent, organized, calm and reassuring manner with good judgment and to m ake appropriate decisions based on training and experience when faced with multiple options.
7. Ability to communicate, orally and in writing, clearly and respectfully with clients and colleagues, individually, and in group settings.
8. Ability to prioritize and plan work activities to use time efficiently

16. Demonstrated proficiency with or ability to learn Office 365 and databases; willingness to learn and apply new software and platforms as necessary for the work.
17. Passion and enthusiasm for the mission of Catholic Charities and its clients.
18. Valid driver license and at least state required minimum of automobile insurance, clear DMV driving record and ability to provide own transportation. Must be willing and able to travel between agency sites.
19. Must pass DOJ background clearance (fingerprinting) in accordance with the Diocese of Santa Rosa’s policies prior to start of employment.
20. Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred but not required.
