Position Overview

Our organization, in collaboration with a prominent medical institution, is on the lookout for an outstanding surgeon to lead the Division of Abdominal Transplantation within the Department of Surgery. The ideal candidate will be a nationally esteemed figure with a proven track record in clinical practice, research, and education. This division encompasses a comprehensive multi-organ abdominal transplant program, which includes liver, kidney, and pancreas transplants, alongside hepatobiliary and robotic surgical procedures. Additionally, we are an ASTS-approved site for fellowship training and have a partnered VA kidney transplantation program. The chosen individual will be dedicated to fostering the growth and advancement of the abdominal transplant program while also supporting the expansion of the hepatobiliary program.

Key Responsibilities

The Division Director will be responsible for:

• Providing leadership and ongoing management for all facets of the Abdominal Transplantation Division, including clinical services, surgical education, and research.
• Recruiting and retaining top-tier faculty while serving as a visible mentor and role model for all division members.
• Planning and spearheading initiatives aimed at enhancing clinical quality, academic productivity, and patient satisfaction.
• Collaborating closely with service line and department leadership to formulate and execute strategic plans that ensure high-quality and efficient clinical services.

Qualifications

Applicants must meet the following criteria:

• Completion of an ASTS-certified program or an equivalent certification program.
• Board eligible or Board certified by the American Board of Surgery.
• Possession of a valid medical license to practice in the State of Illinois at the time of hire.

The successful candidate will hold the rank of Professor, and the salary will be aligned with their experience.

Compensation and Benefits

This role offers a competitive salary and benefits package, which includes:

• Starting compensation ranging from $159,000 to $985,945.
• Salary determined by academic rank and experience.
