Job Description:
Oracle GoldenGate Installation and Configuration
• Install and configure Oracle GoldenGate on Linux-based clustered environments.
• Set up GoldenGate deployments, service managers, administration services, distribution services, receiver services, and performance metrics services, as applicable.
• Configure GoldenGate Extract, Data Pump, Replicat, trail files, checkpoint tables, and credential stores.
• Configure Integrated Extract and Integrated Replicat processes for Oracle databases.
• Implement secure communication, authentication, encryption, and access controls between source and target environments.
• Apply GoldenGate patches and perform version upgrades in coordination with database and infrastructure teams.
Heterogeneous Database Replication
Configure Oracle GoldenGate replication solutions for the following database platforms:
• Oracle Database
• Enterprise PostgreSQL
• Client SQL Server
• IBM Db2
Responsibilities include:
• Assessing source and target database compatibility.
• Designing replication topology based on business and technical requirements.
• Configuring database prerequisites, supplemental logging, archive logging, transaction log access, database users, privileges, and network connectivity.
• Handling data type conversions and schema differences across heterogeneous database platforms.
• Configuring initial data loads and ongoing change data capture.
• Validating replicated data for completeness, accuracy, and consistency.
SQL Server Migration and Continuous Replication
• Configure Oracle GoldenGate for SQL Server-to-SQL Server migration and continuous replication.
• Support minimal-downtime or near-zero-downtime database migration.
• Perform source and target readiness assessments.
• Configure initial data synchronization and ongoing transaction replication.
• Develop migration cutover, rollback, and validation procedures.
• Monitor replication lag and confirm target database readiness before cutover.
• Support post-migration validation and stabilization activities.
Oracle Active-Active Replication
• Design and implement active-active Oracle Database replication using Oracle GoldenGate.
• Configure bidirectional replication between Oracle database environments.
• Implement loop detection and transaction filtering to prevent replication loops.
• Configure conflict detection and resolution mechanisms.
• Address sequence, identity, and key-generation requirements in active-active environments.
• Implement data consistency checks and reconciliation procedures.
• Conduct failover, failback, resilience, and recovery testing.
• Document active-active operational procedures and support requirements.
Enterprise PostgreSQL Active-Active Replication
• Design and configure active-active replication for Enterprise PostgreSQL environments using Oracle GoldenGate.
• Configure bidirectional data replication across PostgreSQL database instances.
• Implement transaction filtering, loop prevention, and conflict-handling mechanisms.
• Configure database keys, sequences, and identity-generation strategies to avoid data collisions.
• Monitor replication health, latency, throughput, and transaction backlogs.
• Develop procedures for error handling, data reconciliation, and replication recovery.
• Validate active-active replication under planned and unplanned outage scenarios.
Monitoring and Error Correction
• Implement centralized monitoring for GoldenGate processes and clustered components.
• Monitor Extract and Replicat status, checkpoint progress, trail-file usage, transaction latency, network connectivity, and replication lag.
• Configure operational alerts for process failures, abends, latency thresholds, storage utilization, data conflicts, and connectivity issues.
• Analyze GoldenGate reports, discard files, error logs, and database logs.
• Troubleshoot failed or skipped transactions and replication inconsistencies.
• Perform data comparison, reconciliation, and controlled error correction.
• Develop automated scripts and procedures for process health checks and recovery.
• Create operational dashboards, runbooks, standard operating procedures, and troubleshooting guides.
• Provide production support during implementation, migration, cutover, and stabilization phases.
Linux Cluster Configuration
• Good understanding on highly available Linux clusters for Oracle GoldenGate deployment.
• Configure cluster nodes, shared storage, virtual IP addresses, network connectivity, and failover mechanisms.
• Integrate Oracle GoldenGate processes with the cluster resource manager.
• Configure automatic failover and restart of GoldenGate services during node or service failures.
• Validate cluster failover, failback, service relocation, and disaster recovery scenarios.
• Develop operational procedures for cluster maintenance, patching, recovery, and troubleshooting."

"• Strong hands-on experience with Oracle GoldenGate installation, configuration, administration, and troubleshooting.
• Experience deploying Oracle GoldenGate in Linux clustered or high-availability environments.
• Strong knowledge of Oracle GoldenGate Microservices Architecture.
• Experience with Extract, Data Pump, Replicat, trail files, checkpoint tables, and credential stores.
• Experience configuring active-active and bidirectional replication.
• Experience with heterogeneous replication involving:

• Strong Linux administration and shell scripting skills.
• Knowledge of Linux cluster technologies and high-availability concepts.
• Experience with database migration and continuous data replication.
• Understanding of database transaction logs, archive logs, supplemental logging, and change data capture.
• Experience with data conflict detection, resolution, reconciliation, and error correction.
• Knowledge of network configuration, DNS, virtual IPs, firewalls, ports, certificates, and secure connectivity.
• Experience with replication performance tuning, latency analysis, and capacity planning.
• Strong troubleshooting and root-cause analysis skills.
Preferred Skills
• Experience supporting GoldenGate environments in banking, financial services, or other highly regulated industries.
• Experience with Oracle RAC and Data Guard environments.
• Experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux or Oracle Linux clustering.
• Knowledge of disaster recovery and business continuity solutions.
• Experience integrating GoldenGate monitoring with enterprise monitoring and ITSM platforms.
• Understanding of database security, encryption, auditing, and access control requirements.
• Experience developing automation using Bash, Python, Ansible, or similar technologies.
• Familiarity with ITIL-based incident, change, problem, and release management processes.
• Experience preparing implementation plans, migration runbooks, rollback plans, and architecture documents."
