INEOS Oxide is part of INEOS, a global manufacturer of petrochemicals, specialty chemicals and oil products. Job Overview The Laboratory Technician reports to the Laboratory Supervisor and is part of the site Quality Group. The role is responsible for safely providing accurate and timely sample results for quality conformance, operational process control, special customer requirements, and support for troubleshooting or improvement projects. Key Responsibilities Follow all safety/PPE rules and actively promote safety initiatives. Understand and uphold INEOS 20 Principles, Life Saving Rules, and complete cybersecurity training. Perform routine testing to determine product quality status as specified by the product specification system. Support unit production or process control by conducting routine or inline testing per schedules or manufacturing unit requests. Assist in non-routine testing with laboratory staff. Accurately enter all data into the LIMS system. Maintain laboratory and equipment cleanliness to meet housekeeping standards. Apply SPC rules to laboratory test results to ensure measurement system is in statistical control. Monitor equipment operation, troubleshoot issues, perform preventive maintenance, and report abnormalities. Schedule work and prioritize tasks to meet laboratory objectives. Participate in safety or quality work teams to improve current systems. Operate the laboratory 24/7/365, managing routine and non-routine samples while communicating with operations and other departments. Work rotating shift and be available for overtime. Handle ethylene oxide safely, following all safety protocols. Qualifications and Experience High School diploma or GED with eight hours of college level chemistry. Associate or Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field preferred. Minimum two years of industrial laboratory experience in chemicals, fuels, polymers, or R&D. Proficiency with MS Office and a LIMS system (Sample Manager, LabWare, BLISS). Computer skills including email, SAP, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Experience with PPE usage and OSHA safety standards. Behavioral competencies: bias for action, teamwork, innovation, problem solving, and technical judgment. Physical and Safety Requirements Work with ethylene oxide; requires respirator and gas mask. Lift 5-gallon containers (up to 50 lbs) and sample trays up to 30 lbs; walk up to 20 ft. Work in temperature-controlled environment and adapt to extreme cold ( Ability to see written documents and computer screens and adjust focus.
