Assistant Manager – Store Operations The Assistant Manager assists the Store Manager in managing all day-to-day store operations, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures. Provides leadership, guidance, and training to the store staff. In the absence of the Store Manager, the Assistant Manager will assume total responsibility for all store operations, consistently striving to exceed sales, service, and operational objectives. Duties and Responsibilities Primary responsibility is the safety and welfare of employees and customers. Create, establish, and maintain an excellent customer shopping experience. Reinforce service level standards and provide service training and leadership to staff members. Manage customer issues promptly and satisfactorily. Process all POS terminal transactions in accordance with policy and procedure: sales, discounts, refunds, loyalty, and open/closing procedures. Inventory control: handle shipping and receiving, price management (price changes, markdowns), singles, damaged merchandise, and conduct physical inventory. Sales floor merchandising and visual presentation: maintain merchandise placement, floor housekeeping, and promotional event directions, materials, and signage in line with company standards. Payroll control: schedule payroll, maintain payroll budget compliance, and manage time and attendance. Training and development: utilize available training tools and reinforce operational standards with direct reports. Loss prevention: protect and control all company assets. Work toward a complete understanding of all day-to-day operations. Principal Working Relationships Customers, sales associates, store management, district/regional managers, store operations and training personnel. Key Qualifications Approved background check. Effective verbal and written communication skills. Managerial and organizational skills. Strong interpersonal skills for customer and employee interactions. Strong visual merchandising skills. Working knowledge of footwear, accessories, and shoe care. Basic mathematical skills. Knowledge of corporate and store operations policies and procedures. Understanding of store presentation standards.
