Crane Technician

Mobile Crane TechnicianThis role focuses on troubleshooting, repairing, inspecting, and maintaining overhead cranes, hoists, and related material handling equipment at customer facilities throughout the Indiana region. You will perform routine and periodic inspections, respond to emergency breakdowns, and complete field service repairs while working directly with customers to ensure their lifting equipment operates safely and efficiently.ResponsibilitiesPerform routine and periodic inspections on overhead cranes, hoists, rigging, and related lifting equipment to ensure safe and reliable operation.Diagnose and repair mechanical components such as motors, brakes, gearboxes, bearings, and wire rope.Diagnose and repair electrical components including electrical controls, contactors, variable frequency drives (VFDs), and pendant or radio controls.Troubleshoot electrical controls, motors, drives, limit switches, and mechanical components to identify root causes of equipment issues.Respond to emergency breakdown calls and perform field service repairs at customer facilities.Travel to customer locations throughout the Indiana region to provide on-site inspection, maintenance, and repair services.Complete accurate service documentation and work orders for all inspections, repairs, and maintenance performed.Serve as a professional representative of the service team while working on-site at customer facilities.Participate in on-call rotations and respond to after-hours service requests as required.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience working in large manufacturing environments or industrial facilities.Comfort using boom lifts, scissor lifts, and other aerial lift equipment.Ability to navigate large facilities with multiple cranes and coordinate work efficiently.Strong focus on safety and adherence to site-specific safety procedures and standards.Why Work Here?This opportunity offers strong earning potential through consistent hours, premium pay for evening work, and double-time pay on Sundays, providing substantial income growth during busy seasons. Standard work hours generally follow a day shift schedule around 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Technicians frequently use boom lifts, scissor lifts, and other aerial equipment and will regularly work at heights of 30–45 feet above the floor, requiring comfort with elevated work and strict adherence to safety procedures. The environment is safety-focused, with both the service provider and the manufacturing customers placing safety as the top priority.Job Type & Location: This is a Permanent position based out of Whitestown, IN.Pay and Benefits: The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $45.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
