Full-time | Immediate opening | $28–$30 per hour, depending on experience

A private ophthalmology practice in Century City is seeking an experienced Ophthalmic Technician/Scribe to join its patient-focused team.

The ideal candidate is an accurate and efficient ophthalmic scribe with strong manual refraction skills. Scribing is the primary focus of this position, followed by refracting and supporting patient workups and diagnostic testing. COA or COT certification is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities:

• Scribe accurately and efficiently during patient examinations
• Perform manual refractions
• Complete preliminary patient workups, including medical and ocular histories, visual acuity measurements, and other standard assessments
• Assist ophthalmologists with diagnostic testing, including OCT imaging and visual field testing
• Administer ophthalmic medications as directed by the physician
• Educate patients about eye-care procedures, treatment plans, and postoperative instructions
• Maintain complete, accurate, and timely patient records in Nextech EHR
• Follow aseptic techniques and established clinical safety protocols
• Help maintain an organized, efficient, and welcoming clinical environment

Qualifications:

• Previous experience in an ophthalmology or optometry setting is required
• Strong ophthalmic scribing experience
• Proficiency in manual refraction
• Familiarity with ocular anatomy, physiology, terminology, and common ophthalmic procedures
• Experience using electronic health record systems; Nextech experience is strongly preferred
• COA or COT certification is preferred but not required
• Excellent attention to detail, communication skills, and bedside manner
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented private practice
