Position Overview
An established Indianapolis-area government supplier is seeking an Inside Sales Representative focused on U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs and federal government customers .This individual will work closely with an existing sales and support team to develop relationships with VA Medical Centers and other federal customers, identify purchasing opportunities, respond to RFQs, follow up on quotes, and help convert opportunities into orders.This is a hands-on sales role for someone who is comfortable picking up the phone, developing relationships, and actively pursuing government business.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop relationships with VA Medical Centers and federal government customers.
- Contact contracting, procurement, logistics, supply chain, clinical, and departmental personnel.
- Follow up on RFQs, quotes, open opportunities, and previous customers.
- Work closely with an existing support team conducting research and outreach.
- Identify upcoming purchasing requirements and new sales opportunities.
- Help coordinate pricing, sourcing, quotations, and order follow-up.
- Maintain an active pipeline of VA and federal opportunities.
- Re-engage previous customers and develop repeat business.
- Participate in customer calls and meetings when appropriate.
- Help the company expand its presence throughout the VA healthcare system.
Ideal Candidate
Experience in one or more of the following is preferred:
- VA or federal government sales
- Government contracting or procurement
- Medical or dental sales
- Military logistics or supply
- Federal acquisition
- Inside B2B sales
- Healthcare supply sales
Military veterans are strongly encouraged to apply.
Prior military service is not required. We are looking for someone who understands—or is motivated to learn—government procurement and can communicate effectively with federal customers.
What Success Looks Like
Success in this position means turning outreach and RFQs into actual revenue.The individual should be comfortable taking ownership of opportunities, following up consistently, building customer relationships, and working with the broader sales team to move opportunities from initial contact through order.
