Registered Nurse In Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU)

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Registered Nurse (RN) Specialty: Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Days Hours per Shift: 12 hours, Variable start Experience: 2+ Years of PACU Experience License: Active Michigan License Certifications: BLS (AHA), ACLS (AHA), NIHSS Certification Must-Have: - Skills Checklist, current to 1 year, pertinent to the specialty - 2 Supervisory Reference Forms Completed within the last two years Description: This position maintains adequate respiratory and cardiac status of patients awakening from anesthesia. The RN continually assesses the patient and carries out doctor's orders while maintaining patient safety and comfort. Regularly assess patients' needs and provide skilled nursing services as prescribed by the physician-authorized plan of care and accepted standards of nursing practice. Provide direct resident care, including medication administration, treatments, call lights, assisting with transfers, and responding to alarms. Evaluate the effectiveness of the treatment plan and make suggestions or participate in updating/revising the treatment plan in collaboration with team members. Utilize current information to improve patient care. Process physician/provider orders and perform physician-ordered care accurately, completely, and in a timely manner. Follow up regarding medication changes and order clarifications. Weekend and holiday shifts are required.
