Job Title: Part-Time Security Engineer (25 hours/week)


Location: Remote (Kansas City Area) - Onsite once a month as needed


Schedule: Monday-Friday, core business hours


Duration: Contract with potential for full-time conversion after 4 months (conversion = 37.5 hours/week)


Start Date: ASAP


Required Skills & Experience:

• Hands-on expertise with Palo Alto Networks Firewalls and Cortex XDR.
• Solid understanding of AWS networking and security concepts.
• Experience with on-premises networking and firewall administration.
• Familiarity with Cisco Umbrella (DNS security).
• Ability to investigate, troubleshoot, and resolve complex security issues.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a remote environment.

Preferred (Nice to Have):

• Experience with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) networking and firewalls.
• Prior exposure to AWS WAF management.
• Familiarity with hybrid or multi-cloud security architectures.

Additional Information

• Hours: 25 hours per week, Monday-Friday during core business hours.
• Availability: Must be able to respond to emergency issues outside of standard hours when needed.
• Team: You'll join a supportive team of 6 security professionals (reducing to 4 during transition), including specialists in network security, incident response, and data security.
• Approval: Any work exceeding 25 hours per week requires prior approval.
