Branch Driver I

Job Description We are looking for a Branch Driver I to join our Platt team in Kent, WA. Summary: The Truck Driver I is responsible for delivering products to/from customers, company branch/warehouse locations, and company suppliers in a delivery van or box truck (No CDL required). This role ensures deliveries are prepared to meet customer requirements efficiently and that materials are correct and free of damage. What You'll Do Inspect company vehicle for visual and operating defects; complete daily inspection report. Keep company vehicle clean, serviced, and maintained; alert supervisor of required repairs or service. Comply with Department of Transportation (DOT), local, and state driving laws and regulations. Load or unload vehicle and ensure all material for each order is correct (quantity and type) and free of damage before departure. Assist in preparing orders for delivery when required. Ensure all appropriate documentation is thoroughly completed at the time of delivery, including customer signature, packing list, and branch/warehouse manifest. Pick up material returns from customers; inspect condition, verify quantities and catalog numbers. Pick up material from company suppliers. Support other warehouse duties such as preparing and filling orders, receiving, stocking, staging, and shipping material when needed. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications What You'll Need Attend company driver training (no prior experience required). Hold a valid driver’s license. Be at least 21 years of age. Pass a pre-employment and annual review of the Motor Vehicle Record. Obtain verification of non‑expired medical certificate as required by law within 60 days of hire. Have no suspended driver’s license for a traffic accident/violation within the past 3 years. Have no at‑fault accidents in the past 3 years. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Ability to handle loads with a combined weight not to exceed 26,000 GVW. Ability to handle basic issues and problems independently. Strong knowledge of safety regulations and familiarity with traffic and driver laws. Willingness to adhere to assigned routes, schedules, safety procedures, and transportation laws. Excellent organizational and time‑management skills; ability to meet deadlines. Excellent customer service skills. Good attention to detail. Ability to work overtime as needed.
