We specialize in research and development, manufacturing operations, plant shut downs and building maintenance.Our skilled trades include Tool and Die Makers, Instrumentation, Multi-Craft, Machinists, Pipefitters, Carpenters, Electricians, Work Coordinators, EH&S, Welders, Pipe Insulators, Carpenters, Preventative Maintenance Technicians, Planners, and others.Detailed Description:Performs installation, operation, repair and servicing of laboratory and field prototype models and test equipment. Conducts a variety of complex tests. Works independently and with technical managers, chemists, and laboratory technicians. Required to make independent decisions on implementing and coordinating the work assigned. Performs complex jobs and coordinates tasks of lower rated employees when required. Demonstrates knowledge of laboratory safety protocol and is takes lead role with customers and co-workers with questions around proper procedures and established protocols.Requirements:Formal training in Instrumentation and ElectricalNeed strong knowledge in calibrating instruments of flowUnderstand and work with pressure and level transmitters and thermocouplesStrong problem solving and communication skillsMust troubleshoot and repair instruments and electrical systemsEnsure compliance with safety regulations and company compliance standardsCollaborate with focal point Process Control TechnologistsWork with temperature controllersConduct troubleshooting for 480v and belowNeed workable knowledge of test metersMust know how to install, calibrate and maintain industrial control systemsMust be able to install wiring based on code requirementsMust be able to work with analytical equipment troubleshooting, designing modifications and build themMust conduct the most complicated tests developing specific methods in accordance with the general test requirements and proceduresSecures and reviews all available information to become familiar with test objectives and to set up test equipment.Aligns or coordinates alignment of instruments and equipment with items to be tested and records data as the test progresses.Observes equipment for indications of failure or malfunction and repairs or adjusts components as required.Conducts complicated tests or portions thereof, in accordance with specific test proceduresPreferred Skills/Experience:Education and/or Experience Vocational or Technical Certificate, or Associate degree in related or specialized field; 20+ years of experience, and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.Language SkillsAbility to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively with other employees of organization.KnowledgeScience knowledge of chemistry or related science to conduct laboratory work such as testing and water samples. Mechanical knowledge to maintain and troubleshoot laboratory equipment.Mathematical SkillsAbility to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to collect samples and analyze results (intermediate math).Reasoning AbilityAbility to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
