Individual responsibilities will range from analysis of trends and market conditions in the bond markets, preparation of internal reporting, transaction execution and administration and creating marketing material and proposals for existing and prospective U.S. clients.List Major/Essential Job Duties:Assist in the preparation of weekly market updates for internal and external clients, discussing bond market conditions and trends across the U.S. and EuropeIdentify appropriate pricing parameters for issuers in context of relevant market and peer groupsPrepare and maintain the debt capital markets pricing analysis databaseContribute to the preparation of debt capital markets proposals and marketing materialsProvide support in the preparation of internal credit proposals, involving detailed credit and market analysisManage internal deal process through closing and manage deal filesCoordinate and work in conjunction with different departments within BBVA in the U.S. and Europe to successfully meet job responsibilities and dutiesLevel of Complexity and Risk InvolvedCredit and pricing analysis require understanding of financial statement analysisFinancial modelingBond/fixed income securities analysisInvestment banking quantitative skillsScope of DutiesInteraction with professionals from both BBVA NY and the BBVA Group globallyMaintenance of internal reports and their distribution to the appropriate areasUnderstanding and development of financial modeling, financial statement analysis, derivative instrumentsOral and written presentationsPreparation and monitoring of the bond closing processIdentification and use of research and toolsParticipation in due diligence meetingsSkills, Knowledge, Competencies - Must HaveDegree in Economics, Finance or related fieldExcellent communication and presentation skillsAbility to work in a team environment and under tight deadlinesUnderstanding the principles of the bank and bond marketFinancial statement analysis, financial modeling and DCFSignificant experience and comfort with PowerPoint and ExcelFluent in EnglishFINRA SIE, Series 79 and Series 63 required (or willing to obtain within 6 months of hire)Skills, Knowledge, Competencies - PlusInternship experience in investment banking/capital markets1-2 years prior working experience in finance or related fieldPrior DCM experienceBloomberg terminal experienceThe New York Branch provides a high-visibility environment, with direct exposure to senior stakeholders and involvement in key regulatory and strategic initiatives in the U.S.We promote a collaborative culture that values ownership and continuous improvement. It is not typical for offers to be made at or near the top of the range. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, and, where applicable, certifications obtained. Market and organizational factors are also considered.
