PM&R Physician – Medical Director, Inpatient Rehabilitation Glendale, Arizona Estimated Compensation: $300,000+ (productivity-based) + Medical Directorship Stipend Position Overview AZ Rehab Consultants is seeking a board-certified or board-eligible Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation (PM&R) Physician to serve as Medical Director for an inpatient rehabilitation facility in Glendale, Arizona. This leadership role combines direct patient care with programmatic oversight to deliver high-quality, outcome-driven rehabilitation services. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated physiatrist who excels in interdisciplinary team leadership, functional restoration, and improving patient outcomes such as discharge mobility and reduced readmissions. Key Responsibilities Provide inpatient PM&R consultations and direct patient management in the rehabilitation unit. Serve as Medical Director: Oversee programmatic quality, compliance (including IRF-PAI and CMS guidelines), interdisciplinary team rounds, and performance improvement initiatives. Collaborate with hospital leadership, therapy teams, nursing, case management, and other physicians to optimize patient care and length of stay. Develop and implement treatment plans focused on pain management, spasticity, neurorehabilitation, and functional independence. Participate in community outreach, referral development, and quality metrics reporting. Ensure documentation supports medical necessity and maximizes reimbursement under PDPM and other payer models. Qualifications Board Certified or Board Eligible in Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation (PM&R). Active Arizona medical license (or eligible). Strong leadership skills with a collaborative, patient-centered approach. Commitment to evidence-based care and continuous quality improvement. Experience with IRF regulations, stroke, TBI, SCI, orthopedic, and medically complex patients is a plus. Compensation 1099 Independent Contractor structure with estimated total compensation $300,000+ based on productivity (patient encounters/WRVUs). Medical Directorship Stipend (additional to clinical earnings). Flexible scheduling with potential for full-time or substantial part-time commitment.
