Nurse Case Manager

The primary role of the Nurse Case Manager is to coordinate care and services for injured workers who are covered by North Dakota Workforce Safety & Insurance. Duties Include Manage a caseload of 20-30 injured employee cases. Conduct daytime travel to local and surrounding areas for on-site visits to medical facilities (such as physician offices and hospitals) to coordinate medical services for injured employees and support their ongoing care. Support medical facilities and staff in understanding WSI procedures and requirements. Assess and identify community resources. Educate and advocate for services for the injured employee. Assist with medical authorizations and coordinate services such as referrals, evaluations, transportation, and environmental modifications. Collaborate with medical providers and employers to coordinate timely, medically appropriate return-to-work plans. Serve as a medical resource to WSI staff by analyzing medical information and participating in internal meetings to support claim decisions. Provide regular updates to all parties involved in the claim. Communicate clearly, effectively, and professionally with internal and external stakeholders. Create and maintain case management plans and documentation, updating them as required. Must have a valid driver's license and be able to drive and maintain a State vehicle. Minimum Qualifications Requires licensure as a Registered Nurse by the North Dakota Board of Nursing and Minnesota Board of Nursing, or licensure in another state and meets the eligibility requirements for licensure in North Dakota and Minnesota. One year of patient care RN work experience in rehabilitation, orthopedics, home health, community health, and/or occupational health. Preferred Qualifications Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work effectively, professionally, and courteously with others, both internal and external to the organization. Ability to effectively use PC software applications. Must exhibit strong leadership and problem-solving skills. Must be dependable, organized, self-motivated, resourceful, and flexible. Must be able to work independently with little supervision. North Dakota licensure is a condition of employment, and the employing agency will verify and document licensure upon appointment.
