Instrumentation and Controls Engineer

Position Summary The Instrumentation & Controls Engineer specializes in the design, development, and inspecting of Instrumentation & Controls equipment, components, or systems for life-science, biopharmaceutical, and/or microelectronics/semiconductor facilities. He/she is familiar with mathematical and engineering principles and methods used to design Instrumentation & Controls systems. The Instrumentation & Controls Engineer I works directly with other designers, engineers, and clients to develop designs and solutions with appropriate direction from more experienced engineers. Works on projects/matters of limited complexity in a support role under close supervision. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Key responsibilities: Prepare Instrumentation and Controls deliverables for different design phases based on P&ID’s, specifications, standards, codes, and customer input, including instrument lists, I/O lists, instrument data sheets, wiring and segment diagrams, instrument and device location diagrams. Work directly with lead engineers to develop technical strategy and deliverables for Biotech, Pharmaceutical, and/or Advanced Technology client projects. Develop understanding of instrumentation and controls as it applies to sanitary process system design. Coordinate and interact effectively with project managers, vendors, and engineers across multiple disciplines. Review supplier and design documentation to verify the accuracy and completeness of vendor submittals and shop drawings. Education Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university; or one to two years related.
