Machinist – Manual Milling (Bridgeport)

Rochester, NY

$24–$26/hour

Monday–Friday | 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM

We are looking for a skilled Machinist with hands-on experience operating manual Bridgeport milling machines . In this role, you will produce precision components from engineering drawings while maintaining tight tolerances and high-quality standards.

This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented professional who takes pride in craftsmanship and enjoys working in a traditional machine shop environment.

• Set up and operate manual Bridgeport mills to produce precision parts
• Read and interpret blueprints and engineering drawings to determine machining processes
• Perform machining operations including milling, drilling, tapping, and boring
• Select appropriate tooling, speeds, and feeds to ensure accuracy and surface finish
• Inspect finished parts using micrometers, calipers, and gauges
• Complete machine setups, adjustments, and basic preventative maintenance
• Troubleshoot machining issues and make necessary corrections
• Support lathe operations as needed
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment

• Experience operating and setting up manual Bridgeport milling machines
• Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints
• Proficiency in manual machining techniques (milling, drilling, tapping, boring)
• Hands-on experience performing full machine setups
• Skilled in using precision measurement tools
• Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
• High attention to detail and commitment to quality

• Experience with both manual mills and lathes in a production environment
• Exposure to basic machining programming or parameter adjustments
• Background in traditional/conventional machine shop environments
• Interest in continuing education or certifications in machining

This is a Permanent position based out of Rochester, NY.

The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $26.00/hr.
