Position Engineer Class I, reports to Engineer Supervisor, Chief Engineer, or Director of Engineering. Responsibilities Supervise, perform administrative duties, basic duties of Class III Engineer, and special skills of Class I and II Engineer. Assist the Director of Engineering in supervising engineering staff, including interviewing, recommending hiring, training, scheduling, preparing payroll, coaching, counseling, performance evaluations, and discipline as needed. Assign work orders to staff and monitor progress and results. Monitor, control, and report on energy conservation programs. Be responsible for all life and safety systems, including fire, elevators, disaster and emergency lighting, and generating systems. Maintain all motors and control circuits. Arrange for proper trash removal and recycling. Purchase equipment and supplies. Maintain audio systems within the hotel. Perform the duties of a Class II or III Engineer as needed. Perform special projects and other responsibilities as assigned. Participate in hotel committees and task force assignments. Desired Skills and Qualifications High school education or equivalent experience. One to two years of related experience with this company or other organization(s). Working knowledge of housekeeping and hotel services, policies, and operations. Strong communication skills to convey information and hotel services to management, staff, and guests.
