Systems Engineer I

Herbalife

Overview THE ROLE: As a Systems Engineer I, you’ll help keep our Linux infrastructure reliable, secure, and ready to scale. You’ll work hands‑on across day‑to‑day operations and the full lifecycle of infrastructure changes—design, build, test, implement, and optimize—while partnering with teams across the organization to solve problems and continuously improve how we run. HOW YOU’LL MAKE AN IMPACT: Investigate, fix, and resolve Level 1 Linux infrastructure incidents, bringing up issues effectively when needed. Use standard monitoring and diagnostic tools to quickly identify root cause and restore service. Partner with customers, vendors, and internal technical teams to drive issues to resolution and improve the support experience. Support complex network/system integrations through analysis, testing, and coordinated implementation. Help design, build, test, implement, and optimize Linux and network infrastructure to improve reliability, performance, and security. Deliver systems administration solutions for minor projects and operational enhancements. Contribute to and help maintain system standards, runbooks, and operational documentation. Find opportunities to automate repeatable admin tasks and recommend practical improvements. Perform Linux patching and lifecycle activities using tools such as Ansible Tower and Spacewalk (or similar). Provide production support and assist project teams requiring Linux expertise. Participate in a rotating weekend on‑call schedule to support 24/7 operations. WHAT’S SPECIAL ABOUT THE TEAM: You’ll join a five‑person Linux Infrastructure team that owns the health of our environment—day‑to‑day operations, security patching, vulnerability remediation, and project support. We work closely with partners from Data Center, Storage, Virtualization, Application, and Database teams. You’ll gain exposure to various technologies and many chances to learn and grow. Qualifications SKILLS AND BACKGROUND TO BE SUCCESSFUL: Required 3–5+ years of IT experience, including hands‑on Linux systems administration or infrastructure support. Strong fixing, analysis, and problem‑solving skills, with a customer‑focused approach. Clear written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to document procedures and explain technical topics to partners. Experience using monitoring, reporting, management, and optimization tools for systems/infrastructure. Passion for technology and a commitment to staying current with evolving best practices. Preferred Familiarity with automation and configuration management tools (e.g., Ansible/Tower or similar). Exposure to high‑availability and disaster recovery design/implementation concepts. Knowledge of ITIL and service management principles. Education Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology (or related field) or equivalent practical experience.
